1. Who we are and what this policy covers
SiteLang is operated by Capital Events SARL, ICE 002991571000002, at QUARTIER AL MATAR LOT ONDA N 19, Nador, Morocco (“SiteLang”, “we”, “us”). Contact us about privacy at [email protected] or by post at that address.
This policy covers visits to sitelang.pro, SiteLang accounts, installation and licensing, support, orders, and the optional managed AI translation service. It does not replace the privacy policy of a merchant’s own WordPress site. The merchant decides what content to select for translation and is responsible for giving notices and having a lawful basis and permissions for that content. Contact us about appropriate data-processing terms before submitting third-party personal data.
2. Information we handle
- Account and support: name, email address, account and authentication records, messages, and information you provide to support.
- Orders and entitlement: plan, billing contact, order and subscription identifiers, transaction status, currency, amount, license, and connected-installation records needed to provision and support access. For purchases completed through Paddle checkout, Paddle processes payment information as merchant of record; SiteLang does not need your full payment-card number.
- Connected WordPress site: after an administrator chooses to connect the service, SiteLang receives the site URL and name, account or purchase email and activation code entered by the administrator, plugin and environment versions, locale, enabled-language and mapped-content counts, queue status, entitlement state, and limited diagnostic information.
- Managed AI translation: the source text or structured content selected for translation, protected markup, source and target languages, instructions, selected model and generation settings, technical request identifiers, generated translation, and usage records such as token counts and status. Submitted content may contain personal information if the site operator includes it.
- Website and security records: ordinary server and security logs such as IP address, browser or device information, pages requested, and approximate access time. Cookies may support account login, checkout, and site security. Any optional analytics or advertising tools are subject to their own disclosures and choices, including consent where required.
Installing or activating the plugin alone does not connect it to the SiteLang service or transmit selected translation text. Local manual translation does not send the selected text to SiteLang. A site administrator must connect the hosted service and request managed AI translation for those service flows to occur.
3. Site connection and service communications
An administrator may request the public plan catalog from the plugin. This request does not include the site’s URL, account information, or translation content, although the service provider may receive ordinary network information such as the server IP address.
When an administrator enters an activation code and account email and accepts the service disclosure, the plugin sends the entered code and email, site URL and name, plugin version, and a SHA-256 hash of the site URL to SiteLang. While connected, authenticated background status requests are sent about every ten minutes. They include the site URL, name and hash; plugin, WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions; locale; enabled-language and mapped-content counts; queued-job count; applied license revision; a safe last-error code; and acknowledged service-command identifiers. Authentication headers carry the installation identifier and site token. These status requests do not include translation text. When an administrator disconnects, the plugin sends an authenticated release request for that installation, clears its local token, and stops future heartbeats.
4. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, connect installations, validate entitlements, fulfill orders, provide requested translations, deliver service messages, provide support, prevent misuse, diagnose errors, maintain reliable delivery, keep required transaction and tax records, and respond to valid legal requests. Depending on the context and applicable law, processing may be necessary to perform an agreement, comply with a legal obligation, or pursue a legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it as described below.
For personal information inside content a merchant submits for translation, that merchant determines the purposes and legal basis. SiteLang processes the content to deliver the requested service under its agreement with the merchant.
5. Managed AI and other recipients
When a connected administrator requests managed AI translation, the selected source text and protected markup, languages, instructions, selected model and generation options are sent to SiteLang over HTTPS. SiteLang forwards the authorized request to OpenAI as its configured AI provider and returns the result to the WordPress site. OpenAI receives the submitted content and request context only when managed AI translation is used. The provider API credential is held on SiteLang’s server and is not stored in the plugin.
For an order completed through Paddle checkout, SiteLang shares or receives the information needed to provision the purchase and support the customer, and Paddle processes the payment as merchant of record. Paddle’s own Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms apply to Paddle’s payment and buyer-support services. If a checkout identifies another payment provider, that provider’s terms and privacy notice apply to its payment processing.
We may also share necessary information with hosting and backup providers, email providers for service messages, and security providers where used. We may disclose information when required by law or in a legitimate business transfer, subject to applicable safeguards.
Review OpenAI’s Service Terms and Privacy Policy before submitting personal or sensitive content. Provider processing, safeguards and retention are governed by the applicable provider terms and settings. A request setting intended to limit stored response state does not mean all provider logs, safety records or backups are absent.
6. International processing
SiteLang operates from Morocco. Our service providers, including the AI and payment providers, may process information in other countries. Destinations and transfer protections depend on the provider and service configuration. Contact us for information about a particular transfer and the safeguards that apply before sending sensitive or regulated content.
7. Retention
We keep account, license and installation data while needed to provide and support the service and afterward where needed to resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. Order and accounting records are kept for periods required by applicable law. Support messages and security logs are kept while reasonably needed for support, security and dispute resolution, then deleted or anonymized.
SiteLang’s application schedules deletion of its AI usage records, including completed responses, after 30 days. Backups, infrastructure logs and provider records may follow different schedules. Translations saved on your WordPress site remain under your control and are not deleted by disconnecting SiteLang.
8. Your choices and rights
You can use local translation tools without connecting the hosted service. A site administrator can disconnect an installation to stop future authenticated service heartbeats. Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection concerning personal data SiteLang controls, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Email [email protected]; we may verify your identity before responding. For information a merchant placed in its own site content, contact that merchant first. You may also complain to a data-protection authority available in your jurisdiction.
9. Security and children
We use access controls and authenticated service connections and keep AI provider credentials on the server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. SiteLang accounts and managed translation are intended for website operators, not for children to register directly.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our service or the law changes. The date above identifies the latest version; we will give additional notice where required. Questions or privacy requests: [email protected].
